Be all to end all! Great Wins and Boring Fights Pt. 2

So, it has taken me approximately 16hrs to realize I bungled up my own database. The previous post, was in fact posted 20hrs ago. Great stuff eh?

So, things are fairly back to normal. I’m still trying to figure out how to make the top header clickable without putting a the same image with a link. Efficiency is the key afterall.

But let’s get to the main question. Yesterday, I had placed a link to UFC 83. In particular, George “Rush” St. Pierre vs. Matt “The Terror” Serra. I had recently installed a stats plugin for Wordpress and saw that there were 39 visits to my website. That couldn’t be right, especially when I haven’t even advertised it yet or even submit my website to search engines.

Perhaps they guys who are hosting the flash video have ‘bots sniffin’ out hot-linkers like me. But who cares! Here’s the video once again!

Matt Serra and GSP

Other fights:
Kalib Starnes vs. Nathan Quarry

Travis Lutter vs. Rich Franklin

——-Spoilers from here forth!————

Everyone knows now that this card was the most anticipated fight in the history of UFC. 22,000 were sold out in one hours time. Pretty darn good. But, unfortunately, many of the fights were lack-luster. There were 3 notable fights to comment on. The others were forgettable.

Kalib Starnes vs. Nathan Quarry (Edit: Clip of Starnes running)
UFC President Dana White put together many of the Canadian fighters into this card, one of them being Kalib Starnes. I wish he hadn’t.

Kalib not only ran around in circles, backing away, but also had the audacity to exchange some harsh words at the end of the fight with Quarry’s camp. I quote “Why aren’t you fighting you faggot? Fuck you! Fuck you!”. Classy. Very classy. 15 mins of running around, Canadian fans booing you, and after 3 rounds, you start to show some balls? Good Riddance.

Travis Lutter vs. Rich Franklin
This fight wasn’t so bad. It looked like Lutter had a good chance against Franklin, but it was very apparent in the 2nd round, Lutter didn’t train all he could. Nothing much more to say. Decent fight.
GSP vs. Serra
This one, oh boy, this one was it. The one everyone was waiting for. Everyone said the last fight they had, Serra got lucky. Except, it was those two who claim it was all intentional. It doesn’t matter. GSP won.

But fuck GSP, you did too good of a job now. You’ve inherited, the winner’s curse.

GSP outclassing all the Welter-weights will make upcoming fights…kinda boring. It’ll be a great show, great display of skill, but will it be a good fight? Well, we’ll see.

Maybe a Anderson Silva vs. GSP in an open weight division? Bah, let’s look forward to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra exchange some more words. That should be the next big one.
